Please be in prayer this week as Pastor Ronn, Michele and their family prepare to leave for Africa on Sunday! They will be working with Oasis for Orphans in Kenya from Aug. 5-19. Please pray for their health, safety and for the relationships they will be building there. For more info about their trip, click here to watch the video of their commissioning last Sunday.
Beyond Sunday

Get ready for a special Sunday of celebration on Aug. 26! During the past few months, we have heard story after story of people in our church body going “Beyond.” Dozens of people have gone beyond our walls, beyond our city and beyond our nation to be the hands and feet of Jesus this summer. We are going to tell those stories during a worship service that will go BEYOND a typical Sunday. Don’t miss it!

Congregational Meeting

Please plan to attend a congregational meeting Aug. 26 to learn more about the next steps in our ARISE journey. We will meet at 6 p.m. at the facility we are planning to purchase, 1255 Windham Parkway, Romeoville. Please join us for worship, prayer, information and an opportunity to ask questions.
Please be in prayer that God will do immeasurably more than we can ask or imagine as we approach a September deadline to gain financial approval to purchase that facility. Please pray that God would provide $350,000 through our body and outside donations to give us the amount needed to make a $700,000 down payment on the facility. We need that amount by Sept. 9, so each of our weekly offerings will make a big difference leading up to that date! (You should have received an e-mail Thursday with more details.)

No Klubhouse in August

Kids in kindergarten through fifth grade will sit with their parents in Big Church during the worship service in the month of August. KidsTown will resume its regular schedule for the fall on Sept. 9. The messages during August will focus on topics like forgiveness, comparing ourselves and fear, which are designed to challenge both kids and adults! For younger children who might get restless during the service, we also are providing activity packs and crayons that you can pick up when entering the auditorium.

Job Opening at The Sanctuary

The Sanctuary is accepting applications for the position of KidsTown Director. This is a part-time position (about 20 hours per week). Pastor Ben Wangler currently serves as our KidsTown Director in addition to his many other responsibilities as an associate pastor. As our KidsTown ministry grows, we believe we need to hire additional staff to help us build that ministry and strengthen our vision of building homes of faith. Please pick up a job description at the Info Table, print it out online or contact Pastor Ben for more info: bwangler@cometothesanctuary.org.

Fall backpack drive

To avoid doubling the effort of those in our community, we have decided to take this year off from the Bolingbrook Christian Health Center Family Fun Fest and Backpack Drive and support St. Dominic’s backpack drive and the village’s back to school fair. However, if you are at the store and see unbeatable deals on school supplies, please feel free to buy extra to donate. We will make those part of next year’s backpack drive or even that of St. Dominic’s. Also, the Bolingbrook Christian Health Center, our community missions partner, is always happy to have volunteers from the medical field as well as prayer partners. Contactmarksusan3@yahoo.com for more information.
