The church will provide meat, but please bring a side dish or dessert to share, as well as drinks for your family. Please also bring lawn chairs, if you have them. The picnic area is next to Hidden Oak Nature Center, 419 Trout Farm Road. Parking is available either at the park or at the nature center. Invite your friends!

Coming up…

GOOD FRIDAY AND EASTER

Don’t miss our Good Friday service at 7 p.m. April 22 at Alpha Baptist Church. This service will be an awesome time to reflect on the sacrifice Christ made to bring salvation to those who believe. If you attended our Ash Wednesday service, please bring back the rocks that you received that evening. We will be using those as part of an illustration during the service.

Then, invite your friends and family to join us as we celebrate Christ’s resurrection at 10 a.m. Easter Sunday at Bolingbrook High School! Please check our web site for links to e-vites you can use to invite your friends and family members.

PARENTAL ADVISORY SUGGESTED

Beginning May 1, we will be starting a new sermon series looking at what God says about sex. We want parents to be aware of the content of this series so you will not be surprised if you have children or teens who might attend the worship service with you.

The first message in the EXpliSit series will be titled, “Satan’s lies to teens.” We would encourage students in junior high and high school to attend this service, but we also want parents to be aware they should be ready for some candid conversation afterward. The language used in the message will be straightforward and will not be watered-down for younger kids.

On May 15, the sermon will be on “Satan’s lies to singles” and on May 22, the message will be on “Satan’s lies to couples.” If parents prefer their teens are NOT in the service during these weeks, students can volunteer to serve in our KidsTown ministry. Please contact Pastor Ben Wangler to arrange a spot for them to serve.

Mother’s Day falls in the middle of the series. Because we know many people will be inviting their moms or other guests to church that day, this will be a Mother’s Day message. (The message is titled “Satan’s lies to moms,” but it won’t be about sex.) The awesome women on staff tried to convince Pastor Ronn to give all the moms a gift certificate to a spa and a bouquet of flowers, but this is the best we could do. :)

We hope you will invite your friends to church during this series!

JUSTICE AND COMPASSION

Mark your calendars for “Tend the Garden,” a spring clean-up day at 9 a.m. April 30. We will be cleaning up some local parks in Bolingbrook and loving our community while tending to God’s creation! We will meet at St. Francis Park behind Walgreens on Boughton Road for donuts and refreshments before heading out. Maps will be available at the Welcome Table on Sunday.

SOUPER SATURDAY AUDIO

If you missed our Women’s Link event in March, you can listen to the podcast of our two speakers on our web site. Angela Horejs and Marilyn Webster shared their testimonies of how God has worked in their lives through some difficult circumstances. Please use this link to download the audio files: http://www.cometothesanctuary.org/community/messages/?sermon_id=56

Pastor Ronn will be wrapping up the Foundations series this week with a message on Eternity. If you missed any part of this series, you can catch up either on our YouTube channel or on our web site.

On Feb. 13, we will begin a new series looking at marriage, Till Death Do Us Part. At the end of this four-week series, we will be answering YOUR questions about marriage. To submit a question, use the contact form that will be available on our web site, or we will have opportunities to submit questions on Sunday mornings.

FOUNDATIONS WINNERS

It has been a blast watching all of the kids build THEIR foundations each week before and after service. We announced the winners on Sunday. All of these kids can stop by the Welcome Table on Sunday and pick up their prizes. (The winners were chosen by a different set of independent judges each week. )

Best house: Matthew N., Noah K., Devin C.
Best car: Vince C., Marisa K., Andrew N.
Best flying vehicle: Isaiah K., Vince C., Wyatt M.
Best tall tower: Hannah S. and Devin C. (team), Drew W., Marisa K. and Hannah B. (team)

PAGING SYSTEM

We wanted to remind parents that we have started using a paging system to alert them if a child needs assistance in the Far Off Wing. Usually, our wonderful volunteers are able to console an upset child in the baby, toddler or preschool rooms. However, once in a while, we might need to call a parent out of service. Parents, please pay attention to your child’s number, which you receive at check-in. We will broadcast that number on the screen in the auditorium if we need you.

COFFEE

We absolutely love seeing so many people enjoying a nice hot cup of coffee on Sunday mornings, and we are so thankful that we are able to provide it for you! However, we underestimated just HOW popular the Keurigs would be! If you would like to toss a quarter or 50 cents in our donation box to help cover the cost of coffee, we would really appreciate it. However, this is totally optional.

FEED MY STARVING CHILDREN

Don’t forget to sign up this week to volunteer to pack meals for Feed My Starving Children.
KeHE, a company in Romeoville, is hosting the event at its warehouse, and they have invited us to join them in reaching their goal of packaging 100,000 fortified meals. To sign up, e-mail Nancy and let her know how many people in your family will attend (including children 6 years and older) and which shift you would like to work:   8 a.m. to 10 a.m.; 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; 1 to 3 p.m; or 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.

The warehouse is located in the industrial park past I-55 on Rt. 53. Turn right on CrossRoads Prky, turn left on Schmidt, and the building is almost at the end of the road, right before the stop light. There is a black cast iron fence surrounding the building.
