Sanctuary families have an incredible opportunity to partner with other churches and community leaders this month, as we participate in an event to give us a better understanding of the AIDS epidemic in Africa.
The World Vision interactive exhibit, Step Into Africa, is a 2,500-square-foot interactive exhibit that will be on display Feb. 20 to 27, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. each day, at Living Water Community Church. The exhibit, which was created by the same people who created the Boeing flight simulator, is designed to transport us to the village of four children impacted by the AIDS epidemic.
This will be a wonderful opportunity to attend the event with your family, small group or a group of neighbors or to volunteer together at the event.
In order to do either, however, I encourage you to sign up online to reserve a spot. Each time slot only allows for 40 people for the exhibit and a few volunteers. Also, if you reserve the time, you do not have to wait in line.
Each of the four journeys is about 20 to 30 minutes. Some people choose to do just one, others like to go through several of the four offered paths. However, the content is mature and not recommended for children under 10 for two of the journeys and 13 for the others.
The purpose of the exhibit is not only to bring us closer to this global epidemic but also to bring together our community churches and leaders in a potential future partnership that would respond to this crisis.
Please visit the Welcome Table on Sunday to pick up tickets or get more information. Please remember, even if you have the tickets, you will still need to reserve your specific time slot online.
Peace,
Cheryl Lynn
