As we close out our sermon series, “This is Us” on Sunday, we will be focusing on ways The Sanctuary leaves comfort for compassion. We will be highlighting our Reach Beyond ministry by sharing stories from our short-term mission trips this summer. Bill Merrifield, one of our ministry partners in the Middle East, will be bringing us the message, and we will provide info about our global partners in the lobby after each service. We also will be hosting a lunch with the Merrifield family after second service. Please sign up online if you plan to attend.

Life is expensive. We often spend more than we earn and want more than we have. The struggle with money can leave us frustrated and, at times, angry with God, life and each other. God wants more for us. He wants the best for us. God has given us a plan for our finances, but it requires a change to the way we live and the way we spend. Join us for the series, Making Change, as we unpack God’s plan for a full life.

We all need a plan for our money. FPU gives Biblical advice on how to get out of debt, manage your money, spend wisely and save money. Cost is $109 for book, materials and web site access. This nine-week class meets at 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturdays, beginning Sept. 29. Childcare will be available. RSVP here or sign up at the Info Table.

Perhaps you’ve heard about opportunities to serve in the church, but you aren’t sure what’s the best fit for you. Maybe you would love to connect with others through serving, but you don’t know where to start. We are offering a Spiritual Gifts class during the 11 a.m. service beginning Oct. 14. Those who attend the class will learn what spiritual gifts are and take an in-depth test to discover their gifts. Leaders also will help connect spiritual gifts to opportunities to serve at The Sanctuary.
