Our Eighth Annual Biker Sunday is May 20 after the 11 a.m. service. This is a fabulous morning to invite friends to ride their motorcycles to church. MASS ANTHEM CONCERT
Christian pop band Mass Anthem will be performing at The Sanctuary Church at 7 p.m. May 25! Mass Anthem is an emerging voice in the Christian music scene that challenges audiences to be bold in their faith and take the Gospel of Jesus to the world. The concert is free, and open to all ages. YOUTH DISCOVER CAMP
Students in Jr. High and High School are invited to discover their gifts and talents during this three-day camp, where leaders will help our students not only “discover” their gifts, but really begin to understand the intersection between their gifts and His Kingdom. There will be workshops for all interests, including music, art, improv, construction, sports and the spiritual disciplines. If you are looking for an easy and meaningful way to serve in our community, sign up to partner with Morningstar Mission. We have the opportunity to help serve dinner to those without homes 4 to 6 p.m. June 1 and 9. There is room for seven volunteers.
SPRING/SUMMER PARK HOP
Join other Sanctuary parents and their kids at area parks for weekly play dates! The park hop is every Monday throughout the summer from 10 a.m. to Noon. This week’s location is Phillips Park Zoo, 1000 Ray Moses Dr., Aurora.
Women’s Virtual Bible Study
If you long to get involved in a women’s Bible study but find your schedule doesn’t allow for a traditional setting, join a virtual Bible study Tuesdays at 9:15 p.m. starting June 19. Just log onto the video conference call from wherever you are and join other women as they work through Beth Moore’s study, “James: Mercy Triumphs.” Videos will be sent out the week before in preparation for the virtual meeting. THE FIGHT CLUB
Men of The Sanctuary meet every other Saturday from 7:30 to 8:45 a.m. in the Community Room for breakfast, Bible study, discussion and accountability. The next Fight Club meets May 19.
CHESS AND COFFEE
Do you love playing chess? One of The Sanctuary’s Go Groups is a chess club that meets Thursday evenings at Starbucks on Lily Cache and Weber Road in Bolingbrook. “Chess and Coffee” has become so popular that The Promenade has asked to sponsor a similar event on June 2. VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL
Parents, save the date for this summer’s VBS on July 23 to 27! Children ages 4 to 10 are invited to Operation Arctic, where they will warm up to the Word as they explore the coolest Book on the planet and discover how we can know for sure that the Bible is God’s written word to us! SOFTBALL TEAM SIGN-UPS
Men and women ages 16+ are invited to join the current league champions in the 2018 softball season starting in May! Help The Sanctuary defend their title while having fun, connecting with others and sharing faith through the sport. There will be a fee to participate. Renew is a ministry focused on helping people discover a life worth living through an interactive evening of dinner, learning and discussion. Dinner is served at 6 p.m. every Thursday in the Community Room, followed by worship, teaching and break-out time. The evening includes small group discussion for women, men, a deep dive into scripture and a unique Christian recovery meeting for both the addicted and those sharing the struggle. JUNIOR HIGH AND HIGH SCHOOL
Our junior high and high school ministries meet from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Mondays for student-led worship, large group teaching, small group discussion and tons of FUN! Feel free to arrive at 6:30 for hangout time.
SIX FLAGS TRIP: Celebrate the end of the school year by joining Student Life at Six Flags on May 26. Meet at the church at 8:30 a.m. for a day full of fun! Students in sixth to 12th grade during the current school year are invited. Cost is $45 and includes ticket and transportation. Bring extra money for food. RSVP here.
