What is Krew?

Krew is the 4th and 5th grade ministry at The Sanctuary. Krew was created to serve as a bridge between a child’s elementary school and junior high experiences. Our hope is that Krew will engage our 4th and 5th graders at their unique developmental level.

What we do

Krew is primarily a Sunday morning ministry. We meet three out of four Sundays a month. One Sunday a month we meet during the entire church service. The other two Sundays we meet after worship (during the sermon). In addition to our Sunday morning teaching time, we also have two to three fun weekend events throughout the year, such as an outdoor movie party, cookouts, Wii parties, luaus, etc.

During the summer, the graduating fifth graders will be a part of Thrive (Junior High youth group), and the fourth graders are welcome to join teaching time with the Kids Town Director.

Here Are The Four “C’s” of KREW:

Consistency – Our students desire to be known. Our goal is to set up small groups and do our scheduling so students have the same small group leader each month and become familiar with all of the adults working in Krew.
Challenge – Our goal is to present Bible stories and truths in a way that is new and challenging for our students. We want to encourage students to think for themselves and take ownership of their faith.
Choice – We want our students’ voices to be heard. As much as possible we work in voting, choice making, writing answers on personal dry erase boards, etc. to give the students a sense of ownership.
Competition – Our students are motivated by healthy competition. We are not looking to have people stand out based on abilities, but rather encourage teamwork and setting personal goals to help stay engaged.

Visitors are always welcome to come have fun with us on Sunday mornings. But warn your kids, there will be candy!

Krew meets Sunday mornings in the lounge area upstairs.
